US certification confirms commitment to cybersecurity and compliance
Retarus, a European provider of cloud-based solutions for secure business communication with an international presence, has received HITRUST e1 certification status for ‘Foundational Cybersecurity’ in the United States. The internationally recognised certification confirms that Retarus‘ fax API and cloud fax gateways (https://www.retarus.com/de/services/fax/) meet the highest regulatory requirements in the US, which apply in particular to the highly regulated healthcare sector, and that the company has a robust security control framework in place to minimise risk.
With the growing volume and high sensitivity of healthcare data, trust and security are becoming increasingly important. Analyst firm Gartner® also emphasises: ‘With the increasing interconnectedness of data, protecting sensitive information is essential. CIOs must prioritise effective cybersecurity measures to meet strict data protection requirements.’ [1]
The HITRUST e1 certification underscores Retarus’ commitment to providing US healthcare organisations with a robust, reliable and fully US-based messaging infrastructure that meets fundamental information security requirements.
Retarus focuses specifically on local processing worldwide. The messaging infrastructure for European companies is therefore operated by the provider in its own data centres within Europe – also in accordance with the highest security standards. This is based on a comprehensive security framework and an information security management system (ISMS) audited in accordance with ISAE 3000 SOC 2 Type II and certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 27001:2017.
Retarus’ certified cloud fax infrastructure (https://www.retarus.com/de/why-retarus/compliance-certifications/) is characterised by reliable performance and maximum availability. In both the US and Europe, all services are provided exclusively in independent, locally operated data centres that are regularly audited and meet the highest industry and compliance requirements. With the new HITRUST certification, Retarus is expanding its already broad range of security and compliance credentials, making it one of the world’s most comprehensively certified providers of solutions for securing digital business communications.
‘The HITRUST certification confirms our ongoing commitment to data security and compliance,’ says Martin Hager, founder and CEO of Retarus. ’In the healthcare sector in particular, it is crucial to have partners who understand regulatory requirements and actively support their implementation. That is exactly what Retarus offers.’
‘The HITRUST e1 Validated Assessment is an ideal tool for companies like Retarus that take a proactive approach to cybersecurity and continuously demonstrate their due diligence in the areas of information security and data protection,’ said Robert Booker, Chief Strategy Officer at HITRUST. ’We congratulate Retarus on its successful certification and its commitment to cybersecurity.’
