BHE General Meeting 2025 in Würzburg

May 19, 2025

On 9 May 2025, the German Security Technology Association (BHE) invited its members to this year’s general meeting in Würzburg. Numerous participants took the opportunity to find out about the association’s current activities, make valuable contacts and gain inspiration for the future of the security industry.

Supporting programme and presentation

The event kicked off with an inspiring keynote speech on the topic of ‘Work-life balance for managers,’ which provided important insights into how professional demands can be reconciled with personal well-being. The practical presentation was very well received and sparked initial discussions during the breaks about health-promoting management strategies.

General meeting and review

Afterwards, BHE Managing Director Carl Becker-Christian and BHE Chairman Axel Schmidt jointly led the meeting through the agenda. In their annual report, they gave a thoroughly positive assessment of the 2024 financial year:

  • Membership growth: The association once again recorded a significant increase and now has over 1,250 members.
  • Project presentations: New initiatives in the areas of further training, standardisation work and digitalisation were presented. Particular emphasis was placed on the planned online mentoring programme for young professionals.

Executive Board elections

In the regular elections, Uwe Schmeißner and Oliver Jung were unanimously confirmed in their positions. Their re-election ensures continuity in the work of the Executive Board and underlines the members’ confidence in the strategic direction of the association.

Networking and exchange

A central element of the meeting was the informal exchange on the fringes of the formal programme. Numerous discussions during the breaks and at the joint dinner made it possible to deepen partnerships, discuss new ideas for cooperation and strengthen personal cohesion within the association.

Presentations and outlook

The presentations given during the event are now available for download on the BHE website (members’ area). Further documents can be sent on request. The presentation on work-life balance will be supplemented in the coming weeks and then also made available online.

The next general meeting will take place on 8 May 2026 in Wolfsburg. We look forward to your participation and to continuing the dialogue on the further development of the security industry.
