German PMeV board confirmed

May 19, 2025

The 2025 general meeting of the German Professional Mobile Communications Association (PMeV) has confirmed the association’s executive board for the next two years. Bernhard Klinger (HMF Smart Solutions GmbH), who was first elected chairman of the executive board in 2019, will therefore continue to lead the PMeV for the next two years. Konstantin König (Airbus Secure Land Communications GmbH) is deputy chairman and chief financial officer. Volker Hartwein (Frequentis Deutschland GmbH) also serves as deputy chairman alongside König. The other members of the PMeV board are Thorsten Altemöller (telent GmbH), Helmut Gaschler (Motorola Solutions Germany GmbH) and Fabian Köslin (Seamcom GmbH & Co.KG). The PMeV will thus continue the work of its Executive Board after the 2025 General Meeting.

‘Growing security and climate threats make secure, critical communications solutions more important than ever,’ said Chairman Bernhard Klinger, summarising the challenges facing the PMeV and the industry for mission-critical and business-critical communications: Cyber attacks on companies and public administrations have increased significantly. German intelligence services are warning of an increase in physical acts of sabotage. Natural disasters are becoming more frequent. Nationwide blackouts are no longer a fiction in Europe.

Commenting on the industry’s prospects arising from political, technical and regulatory developments, the PMeV CEO said: ‘If we as a society want to take the next step towards greater security, resilience and efficiency, then we need not only technological innovations but also the political will and financial resources to make these changes possible.’ He cited the transition to broadband while continuing to operate narrowband TETRA networks and the long-term securing of TETRA frequencies in the 410–430 MHz range as positive indicators for the industry.
