  • Frequentis to supply new communication solution for all Norwegian fire emergency call centres
  • The new system will handle calls, radio, video and digital messages and offers flexibility to meet future requirements

The national association of Norway’s fire and rescue emergency response centres (NKS110) has commissioned Frequentis to deliver a new, future-proof communications platform for all 110 centres. The system will replace the current Integrated Command and Control Solution (ICCS) by the end of 2026 and support emergency call handling, alerting, coordination and collaboration.

The solution is designed to adapt to changing requirements and enable dispatchers to handle different types of requests – whether via telephone, radio, video or digital channels – while preparing the fire service for the transition to Norway’s next-generation emergency network.

‘This milestone is a significant step towards strengthening emergency response across Norway,’ said Robert Nitsch, Vice President Public Safety at Frequentis. ’With the 3020 LifeX communication and collaboration platform, NKS110 will have a flexible, future-proof solution that ensures reliable and standardised communication for today’s needs and tomorrow’s challenges.’

Frequentis will deliver a centralised, software-based solution hosted on the customer’s virtual platform, simplifying administration, maintenance and scaling. The system will also include supporting software for communication, coordination, monitoring and information management, providing dispatchers with everything they need in an integrated environment.

‘At NKS110 IKS, we are convinced that this procurement will provide the 110 emergency response centres with a complete, robust and efficient solution. We look forward to continuing to work on KOM with the supplier, the owners, the emergency response centres and the fire brigade,’ says Trond Brenden, Managing Director of NKS110 IKS.

‘The project strengthens Frequentis‘ role in the Norwegian public safety sector and supports the company’s ongoing investment in the region, including special local resources at its Oslo office to better serve customers in the Nordic countries,’ says Oliver Ossege, Managing Director of Frequentis Norway.
