Messe Essen draws a positive balance of Security 2024: ‘Highly satisfied visitors’, a ‘significant increase in exhibitors of over 25 per cent’ – after a historic low – and ‘countless successful discussions at the trade fair stands’ are the résumé. The trade fair organisers see the four ‘intensive’ days as a confirmation of this and see the trade fair as the ‘leading trade fair’ – now probably for the German security industry. The 20,000 trade visitors – an increase of 17 per cent – from 86 nations show that the myth of ‘Messe Security’ continues to work. And Oliver P. Kuhrt, Managing Director of Messe Essen, sees the trade fair as an ‘indispensable platform for the international security industry’. When asked by the exhibitors, however, there was a lack of installation companies that were either unable to come due to a shortage of skilled labour and the order situation or for whom attending the trade fair was too expensive. Nevertheless, the security industry, the construction industry and public authorities were important visitor groups.
According to the Managing Director, decision-makers came, three out of four of whom are significantly involved in purchasing and procurement in their company. Whether these are end customers from industry, trade or administration or others will be revealed by the following trade fair analysis.
The exhibitors reported good discussions and high-quality contacts at their stands. The importance of the industry as an economic factor is greater than it was a few years ago. In Germany alone, the turnover of the security industry has risen by more than nine per cent to over 31 billion euros within one year.
The Security Forum attracted a more or less large audience with many presentations by exhibitors. Security Essen also has an award to offer: The Outstanding Security Performance Awards (OSPAs).
Important companies for Germany have confirmed their participation in Security Essen 2026: Hekatron, NSC Sicherheitstechnik, Advancis Software & Services, Deister Electronic, ABI-Sicherheitssysteme, Rohde & Schwarz and Ajax Systems.
