PCS Systemtechnik achieves ISO 27001 certification for information security management.

January 24, 2025

PCS Systemtechnik, a leading German manufacturer of solutions for time recording and company-wide building security, has successfully completed the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification. The internationally recognised standard defines requirements for the information security management system (ISMS), which, for example, includes measures for the protection of sensitive data and for cybersecurity, thereby minimising risks such as data loss, cyber attacks and business interruptions. By aligning its internal processes with the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 standard, PCS is meeting the growing challenges posed by cyber and physical attacks, which pose a serious risk particularly for its customers in critical infrastructures (KRITIS).

ISO 27001 certification underscores the high security standards of PCS Systemtechnik.

As a provider of access control and building security solutions, PCS takes its responsibility as part of a secure supply chain very seriously. PCS has therefore implemented comprehensive organisational and technical measures to minimise potential risks and further strengthen the security of its IT systems. Following a comprehensive audit by TÜV SÜD AG, PCS Systemtechnik has now been officially certified as having information security in its business processes. The scope of certification for PCS Systemtechnik GmbH in Munich covers the development, distribution, operation and support of software and hardware for time recording, access control and vehicle access control at the Munich site.

Risk management also for PCS products and solutions

In addition, PCS relies on the latest security measures and risk minimisation in its products and solutions for access control, building security and time recording. These include, among other things, modern cybersecurity measures such as biometric authentication and data encryption to ensure maximum security. PCS product development follows the latest standards (DevOps), which have already been audited by TÜV Süd.

Philip Knoll, IT Director at PCS Systemtechnik, emphasises the importance of the ISO 27001 certification: ‘As a security solutions provider, we are well aware of our responsibility for information security. We have created a secure foundation for this, consisting of a well-thought-out IT landscape with a multicloud approach and a secure development environment. Everything is coordinated to provide the most secure environment possible for us and our customers. This gives our customers the assurance of working with a trusted partner that understands their data protection and security requirements and meets current and future legal requirements.’

The certification was carried out by TÜV SÜD AG, which thoroughly examined PCS’s organisational and technical measures during an on-site audit.
