Management team with a clear roadmap: René Schümann, Alexander Heinzl (Chairman of bvbf), Carsten Dubberke and Carsten Wege (Managing Directors of bvbf) – ready for the next steps.
At its general meeting in Hanover, the Federal Association of Fire Protection Companies (bvbf) confirmed the current leadership team headed by Chairman Alexander Heinzl. With unbroken enthusiasm and a clear focus on specialist group work and training, the association is continuing its strategic modernisation programme and is heading purposefully towards its 75th anniversary.
Executive board in office – clear course ahead
Alexander Heinzl will remain at the helm of the bvbf in the coming years, supported by his deputies Carsten Dubberke and René Schümann. The re-election not only signals stability, but also reaffirms the shared vision: to further develop the association as the leading voice in structural, technical and organisational fire protection in Germany.
Specialist groups as drivers of innovation
Since 2022, the bvbf has consistently invested in the expansion of its specialist groups. In addition to the proven working groups for smoke control technology, firefighting water technology, …structural fire protection… and automatic fire extinguishing and fire alarm systems, two new forums have been added:
- Fire extinguishing equipment technology
- Operational and organisational fire protection
This growth strengthens internal knowledge transfer and sharpens the association’s profile as a central platform for practical solutions and industry standards.
Focus on qualification
The bvbf is responding to the growing demand for skilled workers with targeted training programmes: in cooperation with the DIHK Society for Vocational Training, the association is further developing the ‘Fire Protection and Safety Technician IHK’ training programme and expanding its portfolio of practice-oriented seminars. This promotes young talent and strengthens the competitiveness of member companies in the long term.
Outlook for the anniversary
‘The demands on our industry are growing every day – both in terms of personnel and politics,’ emphasises Heinzl. ‘With our strong community and almost 75 years of experience, we want to continue to provide impetus.’ Together with the advisory board and its dedicated members, the bvbf is planning a series of activities and publications for its anniversary year in 2027 under the motto ‘Fire protection 4.0: Safe. Connected. Future-proof.’
