Leadership Transition at Veridos GmbH

May 29, 2025

Veridos GmbH, the identity solutions specialist formed through a partnership between Giesecke+Devrient (G+D) and the Bundesdruckerei Group, is preparing for a leadership change this summer. Marc-Julian Siewert, who has served as CEO for over three years, will step down at the end of June 2025 to assume a new role within the broader G+D Group. Stepping into the CEO role at Veridos will be Bernd Kümmerle, effective July 1, 2025.

Siewert will join Secunet, a subsidiary of G+D, where he will become a member of the executive board and subsequently take on the position of CEO. During his tenure at Veridos, the company expanded its global footprint significantly, delivering secure identity solutions to over 100 countries and boosting its revenue by more than half. His leadership marked a phase of intensified customer focus and major international project success.

Taking over the reins, Bernd Kümmerle brings extensive experience from his longstanding role within G+D. Since joining the organization in 1995, Kümmerle has held various leadership roles, most recently heading the Currency Technology segment, where he oversaw international operations in the banknote industry. His deep knowledge of public sector projects and global markets is expected to benefit Veridos as it moves into its next phase of growth.

G+D Group CEO Ralf Wintergerst expressed confidence in the leadership transition, stating that the company is well-positioned to build on its momentum with Kümmerle at the helm. Stefan Hofschen, CEO of the Bundesdruckerei Group, also praised Siewert’s contributions and welcomed the incoming CEO’s wealth of experience.

Reflecting on his new role, Kümmerle shared, “It’s a privilege to take on this responsibility. I look forward to working closely with the Veridos team to continue delivering secure and innovative identity solutions worldwide.”
