ENTP, a major petrochemical supplier and part of the state-owned Sonatrach Group, has initiated a comprehensive modernisation of its video surveillance as part of the major ‘ENTP EYES’ project. The aim of the project is to increase the security and efficiency of the facilities by using the latest IP video capabilities, AI-powered analytics and powerful video management software (VMS). To implement this, the specialist integrator EPE Retelem SPA was commissioned to recommend an end-to-end solution from Idis Technology.
Sonatrach operations are central to Algeria’s national energy security and critical infrastructure. ENTP has multiple objectives: to respond quickly and efficiently to incidents, to improve preventive maintenance, and to create the safest possible working conditions through almost immediate event detection. The project encompasses nearly 70 geographically dispersed well sites and production facilities, as well as the ENTP headquarters.
The new solution is based on Idis plug-and-play Direct IP technology, which minimises installation time and reduces operating costs. By using the latest IP camera technology and a scalable VMS – the Idis Solution Suite – optimal image quality and long-lasting camera performance are guaranteed even under harsh operating conditions. In addition to increasing coverage and eliminating blind spots, failover mechanisms improve system resilience to guard against various failure scenarios. At the same time, the need for increased and optimised video storage capacity was identified without incurring significant additional costs
The centralised management solution from Idis enables remote access to live feeds, playback of recordings and camera configuration. This is complemented by the Idis Mobile Plus app, which allows field staff to perform real-time security and emergency management. In addition, the advanced AI-powered analytics capabilities provide accurate 24/7 alerts that enable rapid response to potential risk events.
‘Our Idis video solution, delivered by EPE Retelem SPA, provides us with complete situational awareness across our entire operations,’ commented Mustapha Mehessim of ENTP. ’With advanced automated detection and highly accurate AI analytics, we have significantly improved our response capabilities.’
