Zebra supports digitisation of task management, communication and workflows across 470 Bonita shops

German fashion retailer Bonita has chosen to implement Zebra’s Task Management software solution. The solution is part of The Modern Store by Zebra framework, which has helped retailers achieve results such as 95% on-time task completion, 98% inventory accuracy and 25% higher transaction value.

Bonita is a fashion brand founded in 1969 in the field of combi-fashion for ‘best agers’ customers. The company operates around 470 shops in its core market of Germany as well as in Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands, as well as around 50 shop-in-shops at selected partners and runs an online shop.

Bonita sells 22 collections per year, which are inspiringly set up in the shops by the store team to meet the expected customer interest. In the future, a modern solution will support the employees in these work processes and make their work easier. Previously, much of the communication between the head office in Hamminkeln and store staff took place via messages on the till or by email, which could lead to errors and delays that affected the efficient completion of tasks.

Bonita’s sales managers realised that a modern software solution was needed to reduce manual processes and optimise digital networking, information exchange and communication. This should ensure more effective task implementation, allowing staff to spend more time with customers and create a better shopping experience.

Bonita turned to Zebra with its challenges and desired outcomes for its business, employees and customers. Working with Zebra’s team of retail software specialists, Bonita developed a compelling business case that mapped and analysed workflows, assigned tasks in the workflow and identified potential productivity, efficiency and financial savings. Bonita selected Zebra’s Task Management solution and, together with Zebra’s software team, will implement it in all of its shops in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands in May this year.

”My colleagues and I are very impressed with the selected task management solution. It optimises and digitises our workflows in our stores, the activities of our employees and the customer experience,” explains Marco Seidel, Head of Sales Operations, Bonita. “In the run-up to the launch, we tested the usability of the solution with colleagues from all areas of the company and received very positive feedback. We are confident that our collaboration with Zebra will deliver a high return on investment. We look forward to this next chapter in our transformation journey.”

The Zebra Task Management software solution consists of Reflexis Task Manager, Q-Walk, Q-Chat and Q-Forms. The solution is used by both shop staff and area managers. Staff and managers will access the solution via their workplace tablets and other mobile devices.

”Retailers are increasingly using software solutions to address their key challenges,” said Christoph Saalmann, senior manager, Zebra Reflexis Software Solutions, Germany, Zebra Technologies. “Our new ‘The Modern Store by Zebra’ framework provides retailers with the advanced functionality they need to be successful today. At the same time, it increases their flexibility to forecast and align with the future.”

The Reflexis Real-Time Task Manager is designed to pre-select and prioritise tasks, making it easier, faster and more efficient for staff to complete their work. The store team can see their respective tasks on an overview screen via their tablet and receive automatic notifications when a task requires quick attention or is a high priority.

The platform also ensures that communication between area managers and head office and shops is modernised, with the right messages going to the right shops and staff.

New workflow forms are optimised on devices with Q-Forms via an intuitive interface: Version control functions allow forms to be created, updated and shared. Employees thus always have up-to-date forms available, no one uses incomplete or outdated information.Optimal shop window design should also benefit from the new solution. The Task Manager function Photo Feedback gives Visual Merchandising colleagues a clear overview of how the collections are placed. To do this, staff simply take a photo of the relevant products in the shop and attach it to the completed task. The merchandising managers can then provide immediate feedback.Bonita will also use the Q-Walk digital store tour to work more efficiently and easily in this area as well. Area managers will thus also benefit significantly from the new solution. Area Managers will be able to work on site using a mobile device, with accurate audit trails and intelligent real-time triggers for best practice corrective actions. With the real-time communication solution Q-Chat, instant messaging can be sent from anywhere and at any time. Employees can share private messages, while managers and head office staff can keep employees updated via channels and group chats.
