DoorBird: World’s first IP video door intercom systems with 5G at ISE
DoorBird, one of the leading providers of intelligent door communication systems, is presenting a world-first technological innovation at ISE in Barcelona. For the first time, IP video door intercoms with integrated 5G mobile technology are available. With the new D31TDV 5G and D31TDH 5G models, DoorBird enables reliable internet connectivity without the need for Ethernet cables, redefining flexibility and reliability in door communication thanks to 5G technology.
This opens up new possibilities, especially for existing buildings. There is no need for costly rewiring, which greatly simplifies installation and significantly reduces costs as well as planning and installation effort. Since neither apartment nor building cabling is required, the D31x models with 5G are ideal for quick retrofits and modernisations. The IP video door intercom systems of the D31x series were developed specifically for apartment buildings, commercial properties and larger building complexes with up to 3,000 units.
Owners and managers also benefit from clear advantages during ongoing operation. Keys, access and names are managed completely digitally from a remote location, via a web browser or app for smartphones and tablets. Lost transponders can be blocked online, and names and authorisations can be adjusted at any time. Video functions and logging increase security and transparency for all accesses.
For residents, comfort and security levels are increased. Doors can be conveniently opened via smartphone, high audio and video quality enables clear communication, and barrier-free functions make everyday life easier for all user groups.
Sascha Keller, CEO of DoorBird, explains: “With the 5G models of the D31x series, we are bringing a real world first to the market. Our partners and customers gain maximum freedom in installation and management, as well as a cost-effective way to retrofit and digitise existing buildings. At the same time, the D31x series offers maximum reliability. Whether 5G is used as the primary connection or as an intelligent backup, the factory-installed combination of Power over Ethernet (PoE) and 5G makes door communication even more reliable and independent.”
The D31TDH 5G and D31TDV 5G IP video door stations will be regularly available in the course of 2026 and are already available today for selected pilot projects.
