Ahlers AG: Ahlers AG files for insolvency

April 24, 2023

The Management Board of Ahlers AG today decided to file for insolvency for Ahlers AG as well as for the subsidiary Ahlers P.C. GmbH due to imminent insolvency. In addition, insolvency applications will also be filed for six other Group companies (Ahlers Retail GmbH, Ahlers Zentralverwaltung GmbH, Ahlers Vertrieb GmbH, Pionier Berufskleidung GmbH, PIONEER Jeans-Bekleidung GmbH, Baldessarini GmbH). Other subsidiaries, in particular the companies from abroad, are currently not affected by the application. The business operations of the Ahlers Group will continue until further notice.

The application for insolvency was mainly triggered by the fact that business development in the past months was below plan in the face of persistently volatile demand and a general reluctance to buy and consume, which had a corresponding impact on the company’s liquidity. Negotiations held up to the end about securing corporate financing even under the current market conditions did not lead to a positive result.

Against this background, it is intended to postpone the Annual General Meeting of the company convened for 3 May 2023.
