Alegion acquires SOSS Door Hardware

October 30, 2024

Allegion plc, a global provider of security products and solutions, has acquired SOSS Door Hardware (SOSS) through one of its subsidiaries.

SOSS is a leading manufacturer of high-quality hinges and door hardware and sells its solutions primarily to the North American non-residential market. Founded in 1903, the company invented the concealed hinge; today, the signature SOSS Invisible Hinge and fire-rated, heavy-duty and other speciality hinges are popular in industrial, commercial and institutional applications.

SOSS will report to the Allegion Americas segment, which will be led by Allegion Senior Vice President Dave Ilardi.

‘SOSS is a pioneer with more than a century of experience in manufacturing high-quality security products, just like other leading Allegion brands,’ said Ilardi. ‘SOSS’ solutions complement our Ives, Glynn-Johnson and Zero International door hardware, allowing us to offer a broader portfolio to our customers and ultimately expand this core part of our business.’

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
