ASSA ABLOY expands its marine portfolio through group-wide collaboration

April 2, 2026

Access solutions specialist ASSA ABLOY is expanding its offering for the maritime industry: close collaboration between ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions and ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems is resulting in an enhanced, integrated solution for cruise ships, ferries and offshore applications.

The aim of the collaboration is to meet the growing demands for networked access systems on board. Operators increasingly require solutions in which doors, locks and access control systems work together seamlessly – particularly under demanding maritime conditions such as high humidity, corrosion and significant temperature fluctuations.

By combining their expertise, Assa Abloy now offers a comprehensive, one-stop solution. Whilst the Marine team at Global Solutions has over 30 years’ experience in shipboard access systems and has installed more than one million locks worldwide – including RFID solutions, mobile keys and certified access control systems – Entrance Systems complements the portfolio with automated door solutions.

For customers, this primarily means simplified project implementation and operation: instead of dealing with multiple suppliers, there is a single point of contact who provides integrated solutions and ensures they work seamlessly together.

The collaboration underscores ASSA ABLOY’s strategic focus on increasing value for customers through group-wide synergies and further expanding integrated access solutions – particularly in specialised markets such as the maritime industry.
