Assa Abloy focuses on IoT security for data centres in Dubai
The ongoing digitalisation of access and security systems is changing the way organisations protect their buildings, facilities and critical infrastructure worldwide. Assa Abloy, one of the world’s leading providers of access solutions, is positioning itself as a technological pioneer in this field.

At the Intersec 2026 security trade fair in Dubai, the company is presenting its comprehensive portfolio of IoT-based security and access solutions – with a special focus on data centres and multi-residential buildings.

Digital access systems as drivers of efficiency

Networked, digital access solutions enable organisations to streamline processes, reduce operating costs and make collaboration between people and systems more flexible. Digitising access allows rooms to be managed dynamically, security levels to be adjusted as needed and productivity to be increased. According to Assa Abloy, modern digital systems also deliver a clearly measurable return on investment, especially in fast-growing markets such as the Middle East.

At Intersec 2026, Assa Abloy will showcase solutions for digitising access in industries with high security requirements, including data centres, airports and large-volume residential complexes.

Holistic security concepts for data centres

Data centres are among the most sensitive infrastructures of all. According to Assa Abloy, it has extensive project experience in the planning and implementation of digital access and security solutions for this environment – from perimeter security and main and high-security doors to networked digital locks that equip individual server racks with real-time access management.

A key component of this offering is the acquisition of German IoT specialist Kentix. ‘With the acquisition of Kentix, we have significantly expanded our portfolio in the area of physical security,’ explains Kostis Telelis, Senior Vice President and Head of MEIA Region at Assa Abloy Opening Solutions. ‘Today, we can offer data centres a fully integrated solution from a single source. This saves time in planning and increases the level of security at the same time.’

The KentixOne platform was developed specifically for data centre security management. In addition to digital access control, it monitors more than 40 physical threats, including fire, power failures and unauthorised intrusion. The practicality of the solution is demonstrated, among other things, in co-location data centres operated by Heidelberg IT Management and in the security of on-premise servers at a large energy supplier.

Open systems and integration into existing infrastructures

Another focus of the trade fair presentation is the Incedo Pro digital access management solution and a wide range of networked devices for system integration. These include the multi-award-winning Aperio wireless cylinders and locks, as well as biometric readers from Control ID. Aperio technology enables the wireless integration of electronic locks into existing access control systems and can also be experienced at the stands of renowned manufacturers such as Gallagher, Lenel and Genetec.

Digital access solutions for residential properties

In addition to data centres, Assa Abloy will also be addressing the growing market for multi-residential buildings at Intersec 2026. The Ecliq digital locking solution replaces traditional mechanical keys with programmable, battery-powered electronic keys, cylinders and padlocks. Flexible access rights and time profiles simplify management for operators and increase convenience for tenants and service providers.

A key advantage: electronic locking eliminates the need for costly cylinder replacement, while optional key revalidation provides additional security. The associated software is available locally, web-based or mobile and allows complete control over access rights and events – anytime, anywhere.

Ecliq components can also be seamlessly combined with the DoorBird IP intercom system for building entrances and fit in with the design of high-quality door and fitting solutions from the Assa Abloy portfolio.

Intersec as a central platform for digital security

‘We are delighted to be presenting our innovative digital solutions at Intersec once again,’ says Kostis Telelis. “The trade audience of OEMs, system integrators, IT and security experts is particularly interested in how digital access solutions can be used economically, flexibly and with controlled overall costs. Intersec is a fixed date in our annual calendar.”

With its trade fair appearance, Assa Abloy is underlining the strategic importance of IoT, connectivity and integrated security concepts – especially for critical infrastructures such as data centres in an increasingly digitalised world.
