ASSA ABLOY Sicherheitstechnik – EXITalarm now with louder signal transmitter

July 31, 2023

Thanks to a newly developed acoustic signal transmitter, the alarm of ASSA ABLOY’s EXITalarm security solution now sounds twice as loud in human perception.

In buildings with visitor control or in department stores, there is a well-founded interest on the part of the operators that the emergency exits are not used without authorisation during normal business operations.

With EXITalarm, ASSA ABLOY offers an easy-to-retrofit security solution against unauthorised door use with two integrated thresholds. The signal red monitoring lever, which is placed directly under the door handle, serves as a visual indicator. An acoustic pre-alarm also sounds as a warning when the door handle is pushed down slightly.

If an attempt is made to open the door using the lever handle, the device, which is operated by a 9V battery, emits a permanent acoustic alarm. By using the newly developed acoustic signal transmitter, the sound pressure could be increased to 92.6 dB(A) compared to the previous version – without structural changes to the component itself. The alarm is deactivated by means of a key. With this key, authorised persons can use the secured door even without activating the door handle and triggering the alarm.
