BAU to be shortened

June 20, 2023

  • New dates: January 13 to 17, 2025
  • BAU will be held in future from Monday to Friday
  • Messe München is following the wishes of the industry

For future events, BAU will be shortened from six to five days. Messe München made the decision after consulting the BAU Board of Trustees and Advisory Board. The next world-leading trade fair for architecture, materials and systems will be held from January 13 to 17, 2025, hence from Monday to Friday.

Dr. Reinhard Pfeiffer, CEO of Messe München, explains: “The last event in April was a resounding success. The exhibitors and visitors were full of praise for BAU in the survey. In our discussions with the key accounts during the trade fair, however, it became increasingly apparent that the companies would welcome a shorter trade fair.” Dieter Schäfer, longstanding chairman of the BAU Advisory Board and Board of Trustees points out: “At our recent meetings with Messe München, we took a critical look at this issue together with Messe München and received a similar opinion from the large majority of our members. It is clear what the industry’s wishes are on this matter.” Pfeiffer puts the results of the discussions in a nutshell: “We are therefore now accommodating this wish. We are convinced that BAU will be even more condensed and efficient for exhibitors and visitors in future through this step.”

Friday will remain a full trade show day with the same opening hours as on all other trade show days. This is the unanimous vote of the Advisory Board and the Board of Trustees of BAU.
