BDSW Hamburg Regional Group bids farewell to Jens Müller

September 4, 2025

Jens Müller, long-standing chairman of the BDSW Hamburg Regional Group, had already stepped down from the association’s executive committee in May this year after eight years as vice-president. Now this step was also on the agenda of the regional group’s general meeting in Hamburg. The company representatives of the Hamburg security industry bid farewell to Müller, a member of the group management of Securitas Germany, as he entered his well-deserved ‘association retirement’, announced Cornelia Okpara, BDSW chief executive responsible for the Hamburg regional group.

Jens Müller, 64, is thus giving up his voluntary work in the association after many years of active involvement in various areas and committees. Since 2010, for example, Müller has been at the helm of the regional group and was vice-president of the association from 2017 to 2025. For many years, Jens Müller has played a leading role in the collective bargaining negotiations of the Hamburg regional group and is known for his moderate collective bargaining policy, which is adapted to the respective economic situation.

A topic close to Jens Müller’s heart has always been training in the security industry. Under his leadership, the regional group introduced the Hamburg Excellence Initiative for the 2018/2019 training year – a project that is unique in the industry nationwide. The initiative supports trainees in finding a place in qualified and high-performing security companies. Key elements include the appointment of an ombudsperson and the awarding of a seal of approval for training companies. In addition, Jens Müller has been involved in the advisory board of the security management course at the Northern Business School Hamburg for over ten years, which he has chaired for several years. Through his work, he has also been able to further strengthen the close cooperation with the Hamburg police.

‘On behalf of the regional group, but also on behalf of the entire association, I would like to express my sincere thanks to Jens Müller for many years of good, but above all goal-oriented and successful cooperation within the association and for the entire industry,’ said Okpara.
