Anniversary seminar featuring research, practical expertise and new regulations
On 24 June 2026, the bvfa – Bundesverband Technischer Brandschutz e.V. (Federal Association for Technical Fire Protection) will be hosting BRANDSCHUTZDIREKT Fire Extinguishing Technology in Nuremberg for the tenth time. The event takes place as part of FeuerTrutz and is aimed at professionals from the fields of planning, operations, industry and insurance, as well as installers of technical fire protection systems.
To mark this anniversary, the seminar offers a highly topical programme featuring practical presentations, new research findings and insights into technical developments in the sector. For instance, Prof. Jochen Zehfuß from the Technical University of Braunschweig will present findings on technical fire protection measures from current research projects – such as the direct influence of sprinkler systems on fire dynamics through altered thermal conditions, water vapour and smoke layer formation.
Other key areas include modern storage and logistics systems: presentations on oxygen reduction systems and fire protection for AutoStore systems will shed light on new challenges in highly automated warehouse environments. The topic of PFAS-free foaming agents will also be in the spotlight once again. This will cover both proof of effectiveness and the transfer of results into practical application.
The programme is complemented by presentations on compartmentalisation in accordance with DIN 14467, protection-objective-based fire protection, and the differences between fire protection under building regulations and the protection of property assets. Furthermore, the event will demonstrate how modern fire protection technologies, digitalisation and international certifications are transforming the industry.
BRANDSCHUTZDIREKT Löschtechnik has stood for compact specialist knowledge, practical content and direct exchange with experts for ten years. The event will be moderated by Jörg Wilms-Vahrenhorst (bvfa).
