Messe Frankfurt is further expanding its portfolio in the field of safety, security and fire: the new Bulgarian Security Summit powered by Intersec will celebrate its premiere on 28 and 29 October 2026 at the Inter Expo Center in Sofia. With this new format, the company is specifically strengthening its presence in South-East Europe and adding another strategic component to the international Intersec brand family.
The Bulgarian Security Summit is part of the successful Intersec brand family and expands the portfolio with another strategic format in South-East Europe. The Intersec brand stands for an international network of events for the security, safety and fire protection sectors. Under the leadership of the flagship trade fair Intersec Global in Dubai, the network has already established itself in the Adriatic region and in Romania. With the new Summit, this proven concept is now being specifically applied to the Bulgarian market. The event takes place in strategic partnership with a&s Adria, a leading trade publication for security solutions in South-East Europe, and NAFTSO (National Association of Firms Trading in Security and Safety Equipment), the central trade association for private security companies in Bulgaria. The summit is aimed at the Bulgarian market and a dynamically growing region, and will have a significant impact on other key markets in South-East and Eastern Europe, including Poland, Hungary and Ukraine.
“South-East Europe offers great potential for security technology solutions – particularly at the interfaces with digitalisation and networked infrastructures,” says Johannes Möller, Head of Building Technologies Shows at Messe Frankfurt. “With this new format, we are creating a platform that specifically promotes innovation, market access and collaborative partnerships in the region.”
The two-day conference and exhibition is aimed at key players in the security industry, including manufacturers, system providers, service providers and end-users. It offers a platform for knowledge transfer, networking and business development in a regional and international context.
The focus is on current industry topics such as smart cities and the increasing convergence of security technologies with ICT (information and communication technology), IoT and artificial intelligence. The programme is complemented by an accompanying exhibition featuring innovative solutions for the local and regional market. Over 100 exhibitors from more than 30 countries will present their products and solutions. For the inaugural event, more than 30 speakers from international and regional markets are also expected, including executives and technical experts from industry, technology companies, system integration firms and associations, who will provide insights into technological developments and strategic trends in the security sector. There is a particular emphasis on structured networking: a digital matchmaking platform specifically supports interaction between participants before, during and after the event.
