Challenge in the field: Primion technicians manage installation under extreme conditions

October 9, 2024

  • Complex project in a research facility / Compliments from the customer / Follow-up order already placed
  • The success of an installation depends largely on three factors: customized advice, innovative technology and dedicated teamwork.

Primion Technology has now received exceptional compliments from the client for the successful realization of a highly complex project in a research facility and is particularly proud of this: “Above all, however, I would like to … to pass on our deepest thanks to the team of technicians who … have done an outstanding job under sometimes complicated conditions and adversities”, emphasizes the project manager.

The requirements for this project were enormous: the entire hardware for access control and time recording in a research facility with around 50 buildings had to be completely renewed during ongoing operations. This included:

  • 33 IDT-32 control centers
  • 9 IDT2x control centers
  • 35 ADT 1100 terminals

brought up to date. The specialty: All of this was carried out under the very strict security requirements of the organization, which had to be adhered to at all times.

This posed a particular physical and mental challenge for the Primion technicians deployed on site. They worked in full personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times, consisting of helmets, overalls and gloves. In addition, special quarantine periods were required in the high-security areas.

One decisive factor here was the area change controls: These ensured that no access to other areas was possible for at least seven days after entering a high-security wing.

Due to the exceptionally positive experience in this complex project, which was successfully completed with a volume of just under half a million euros, Primion has already received a follow-up order of a similar size. This not only underlines the customer’s trust in Primion’s expertise and reliability, but also the outstanding quality of the work performed.

The head of the electronical department draws a positive conclusion: “The entire project went completely smoothly for us – even though I started out as a sceptic. Access control is indispensable for us, as our operating license depends to a large extent on a smoothly functioning access control system. Thanks to Primion’s highly experienced technicians, we were able to maintain the security status at all times, which is of the utmost importance to us.”
