March 6, 2026

The European industry association Euralarm has admitted VdS Schadenverhütung as a new associate member. The organization will participate in all four Euralarm sections – Extinguishing, Fire, Security and Services – contributing its technical expertise to the European fire protection and security sector.

International expertise in risk and safety

VdS Schadenverhütung is widely recognized as one of the world’s leading institutions in the field of corporate safety and risk prevention. Around 500 experts provide specialized services in fire protection, security, cybersecurity, and natural hazard prevention.

Its portfolio of services includes:

  • risk assessments and risk analyses
  • product and system testing and certification
  • inspection and auditing services
  • natural hazard information systems
  • comprehensive training and education programs

In addition, the independent institute contributes to international safety standards through the publication of extensive technical guidelines and rules for loss prevention.

The protection concept applied by VdS partners is based on a global safety approach built on more than 115 years of experience. This concept integrates all key aspects of modern loss prevention, combining technical protection measures with systematic risk management. Decision-makers from industry, insurance, and public institutions therefore rely on the reliability and safety verified by VdS.

Access to market knowledge and regulatory expertise

Membership in Euralarm provides companies with valuable insight into developments across European security markets and the opportunities they present.

Members benefit from the association’s expertise in EU policy and regulation while also gaining access to a network of technical specialists, policymakers, and potential business partners across Europe.

In addition, membership enables companies and associations to strengthen their knowledge of standardization processes. Through Euralarm, members can contribute to discussions in Brussels and help support and shape European standardization and legislative initiatives.

Participation in four sections

With its membership, VdS Schadenverhütung will participate in all four sections of Euralarm.

Extinguishing
This section promotes awareness of integrated extinguishing products and systems. It works on initiatives aimed at improving the protection of life and property while promoting quality, reliability, and the use of advanced technologies.

Fire
The Fire section monitors technical and political trends in fire protection and takes action to guide and improve their development. Members collaborate on solutions to address current and future challenges in fire safety.

Services
The Services section focuses on developing standards for new and innovative services in the security and safety sector. Members exchange information on market developments and emerging innovations.

Security
The Security section closely monitors technological developments, regulatory frameworks, and standardization processes. It also keeps members informed about regulatory changes and advocacy activities at national and EU levels.

By welcoming VdS, Euralarm further strengthens its technical expertise and expands collaboration within the European safety and security industry.
