On Sunday (9 July), the Federal Police seized two brass knuckles on the A93 near Kiefersfelden – from a 15-year-old! The minor had been carrying the prohibited weapons in his luggage. Earlier, the officers seized the knives from six people during border controls. They were each charged with a violation of the Weapons Act.
The young Bulgarian was travelling together with a 20-year-old relative in the latter’s car in the direction of Munich. The police officers first noticed the car. When checking the German licence plate, it turned out that the car was no longer covered by insurance.
Accordingly, driving this vehicle is a violation of the compulsory insurance law. The traffic police from Raubling took over the further investigation. During the search of the car, the federal police officers found a travelling bag in the boot, which could be attributed to the 15-year-old. Inside, the officers discovered two brass knuckles wrapped in pieces of clothing. The minor declared that the prohibited weapons belonged to him. However, he did not want to give any further information. He was reported to the police and will have to face criminal proceedings.
The day before, a Hungarian had carried a one-handed knife in the centre console of his vehicle. The Federal Police confiscated the 51-year-old’s weapon at the border control point. A 39-year-old Lithuanian also crossed the German-Austrian border with a one-handed knife. The knife was lying ready to hand on the back seat of his car. In the car of a Ukrainian, 40 years old, the Federal Police officers found the next one-handed knife in the side storage of the driver’s door. A 41-year-old German also had such a knife with him.
The Rosenheim officers found that he was carrying it in his trouser pocket. Again, a Czech passenger, 28 years old, was travelling with a one-handed knife in his trouser pocket. The federal police officers pulled a knife with a blade about 14 centimetres long out of a can that was between the driver and the passenger seat of a lorry. It belonged to a 36-year-old Belarusian.
In all six cases, the knives were taken from the men. Each of them will be prosecuted for a violation of the Weapons Act.
