• Funkwerk AG acquires renowned security technology and electrical engineering specialist
• Strengthening of market position in southern Bavaria and targeted expansion of expertise in fire alarm technology, security technology and electrical engineering

Funkwerk AG, a leading technology provider of professional communication, information and security systems as well as technical services, has acquired GES – Gesellschaft für Elektro- und Sicherheitstechnik mbH & Co. KG, based in Munich. The previous shareholder decided to sell due to a lack of succession planning and is accompanying the handover in close consultation with Funkwerk. The economic transfer took place on 2 January 2026. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

GES is a long-established installer of security and electrical engineering systems and has extensive experience in the planning, installation and maintenance of sophisticated technical systems. Its range of services includes, in particular, fire alarm technology, burglar alarm technology, video surveillance and access control systems, as well as electrical and network technology. The company mainly serves commercial and industrial customers, facility management companies and customers from the hotel and service sectors.

Within the Funkwerk Group, GES will initially continue as an independent company under the umbrella of Funkwerk Security Solutions GmbH (FSS), a subsidiary of Funkwerk AG. Operational continuity will be ensured by the existing management team, which will remain at the company’s disposal.

FSS is a leading provider of integrated security systems for critical infrastructures, industry and public institutions. With its own software platforms in the areas of video surveillance and hazard management, as well as a nationwide presence, FSS stands for powerful, scalable security solutions ‘Made in Germany’. The acquisition of GES strengthens the regional presence of Funkwerk and FSS in the economically important Munich and southern Bavaria area and complements the existing service portfolio, particularly in fire alarm technology and electrical and network technology.
