Genetec Launches Cloudlink 210: Industry’s First Cloud-Managed Multi-Workload Appliance

February 23, 2025

Cloudlink 210 is secure and scalable, connecting on-premises systems to the cloud and providing cybersecurity for existing devices

Genetec Inc., a provider of physical security software, presents Genetec Cloudlink™ 210: the industry’s first cloud-managed appliance that supports multiple security workloads, including video management, access control and intrusion detection. The latest addition to the Genetec Cloudlink range, this device simplifies security infrastructure by consolidating key functions into a single, scalable appliance. Designed for hybrid environments, Cloudlink 210 securely connects on-premises systems and the cloud, while providing organizations with a cost-effective and flexible way to modernize their physical security operations.

Multi-workload appliance

Cloudlink 210 is the first appliance of its kind to manage multiple workloads in the areas of video, access control and intrusion detection. At the same time, organizations optimize security management and can achieve their business objectives with a single device. This multi-workload approach will be extended to all other Genetec Cloudlink appliances.

A connection in the cloud

Cloudlink 210 is designed for hybrid deployments in Security Center SaaS and serves as a secure connection between on-premises infrastructure and cloud-based systems. Unlike proprietary solutions, Cloudlink 210 is based on an open architecture that makes it possible to connect existing camera and access control systems to the cloud without requiring a complete overhaul of the existing infrastructure. Cloudlink 210 provides a cost-effective and practical way to modernize physical security operations while ensuring seamless interoperability between on-premises and SaaS environments in hybrid deployments.

“As organizations transition to a modern security infrastructure, legacy or vulnerable equipment can create critical cybersecurity gaps,” said Christian Morin, Vice President of Product Engineering, Genetec Inc. ”Cloudlink 210 acts as a conduit and a shield—seamlessly connecting legacy systems to the cloud while providing robust protection against cyber threats. With this appliance, organizations can modernize with peace of mind, knowing that their networks are protected at all times.”

Scalability with simplified deployment and management

Cloudlink 210 adapts to the needs of growing businesses and is easily scalable to accommodate additional workloads and devices. The compact edge device can be deployed and installed in many different locations. It can also be rack-mounted when needed to expand storage and performance with multiple units.

The new appliance also features an intuitive touchscreen that makes it easy to provision and manage the connected devices. With quick access to key functions, users can easily view device status, network settings, and appliance health, ensuring a straightforward management process from log in to maintenance – all without an additional device or app.

As a cloud-managed appliance, Cloudlink 210 automates firmware and software updates to ensure it is always implementing the latest innovations and security enhancements. This reduces maintenance efforts and allows for efficient remote administration, monitoring and troubleshooting.

Availability

Genetec Cloudlink 210 will be available worldwide through Genetec’s network of accredited channel partners starting in May 2025. For more information about Cloudlink 210, please visit: https://www.genetec.com/a/cloudlink-210.
