- Completion of integration strengthens uniform brand image
- Full continuity for customers and employees
The nationwide KÖTTER Security Group has successfully completed the integration of the WAKO Group. Since 1 January 2026, the security service provider, which is particularly well established in northern Germany, has been operating uniformly under the KÖTTER Security brand. The change of name marks the final step in the takeover by Germany’s largest family-run security service provider, which was completed in October 2024.
For the more than 800 employees, this step means nothing more than a change in the company name. All jobs, organisational structures and deployment models will remain unchanged. There will also be no changes for customers: services, contractual agreements, contact persons and the usual service portfolio will continue seamlessly and in full.
Integration as strategic and regional strengthening
“The completion of the integration is a logical and consistent step in our joint development. Our goal has been clear from the outset: maximum stability – both for our customers and for our employees,‘ explains Daniel-Sebastian von Grumbkow, Managing Director of KÖTTER SE & Co. KG Security in Hamburg. ’For our customers, the collaboration remains unchanged, while we can give our employees a clear commitment that all jobs will be retained. At the same time, this step strengthens our performance and promotes even closer integration of the teams.”
With the takeover in October 2024, KÖTTER Security has combined the WAKO Group’s more than 120 years of experience in the field of security services with the comprehensive performance of Germany’s largest family-run security service provider. In northern Germany in particular, a traditional core region for WAKO, the now completed brand unification will help to further expand the regional presence and strengthen the market position in the long term.
Comprehensive protection for customers
As Germany’s largest family-run security service provider, KÖTTER Security offers a wide range of services. This is particularly evident in the ‘KÖTTER Security 360’ solution, which takes a holistic approach to protecting companies and strengthening their resilience.
The starting point for this concept is a thorough risk analysis, on the basis of which individual security strategies are developed. The subsequent action plan takes into account, among other things, personnel security services, modern security technology, alarm management via the company’s own certified emergency call and service control centre, and the integration of fire and rescue services. Services from the areas of cyber security and cyber defence are also incorporated into the overall concept.
With the successful completion of the integration and the uniform brand identity under KÖTTER Security, the group of companies is sending a clear signal for continuity, stability and future-oriented security solutions.
