KÖTTER Services: Three branches celebrate their 35th anniversary – part of a strong success story

October 31, 2025

  • Family business with a focus on consistency and regional roots
  • Employee commitment and long-standing customer loyalty as factors for success

On 1 November, three locations of the family-run KÖTTER Group – the Magdeburg and Leipzig branches of KÖTTER Security and the Berlin branch of KÖTTER Cleaning – will celebrate their 35th anniversary. The anniversaries are part of the more than 90-year success story of the facility services provider, which was founded in 1934 – they stand for continuity, reliability and the trust of numerous customers. These include the Berlin-based energy supplier GASAG, the Leibniz Institute for Neurobiology in Magdeburg and the Federal Administrative Court in Leipzig.

‘Long-standing anniversaries such as these are the best proof that we maintain sustainable partnerships with our employees and our clients and continuously develop our security solutions,’ emphasises Rüdiger Haase, Managing Director of the KÖTTER Security Group. ‘Our group of companies is proud to have been one of the first security service providers in 1990 to boldly seize its opportunities immediately after reunification and to still be operating successfully in the market today.’

Security in Magdeburg and Leipzig: reliable partners since 1990

The history of the family business in eastern Germany is closely linked to the events following the fall of the Berlin Wall. The family business started in the summer of 1990 with its first locations between the Baltic Sea and the Thuringian Forest. By Christmas of the same year, there were already six branches, including Magdeburg and Leipzig. Since then, KÖTTER Security has developed into a reliable partner for industry, logistics and public institutions, among others. From plant and property security to patrol and reception services to tailor-made 360-degree security concepts, the teams combine personnel services with modern security technology and cyber security.

Berlin: Professional cleaning with a promise of quality

Over the past 35 years, the Berlin branch of KÖTTER Cleaning has proven time and again that professional cleaning is much more than ‘just’ cleaning through its comprehensive hygiene concepts and professional expertise. Guarantees of quality and performance include the quality management system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001, the implementation of guidelines in accordance with the Robert Koch Institute, and the great commitment and comprehensive know-how of the employees. As a long-standing training company, the family-owned business also invests consistently in qualifications, such as master building cleaner or state-certified disinfector.

‘Our strength lies in the fact that we grow with and for our customers and actively take on and implement their increasing demands for quality, sustainability and hygiene,’ says Silke Krüger, Managing Director at KÖTTER Cleaning. ‘In this way, we not only ensure value retention, but also health and safety – while remaining firmly anchored in the regions.’

The anniversaries in Berlin, Magdeburg and Leipzig are not isolated cases: in 2025 alone, a total of around 20 branches of the family-owned company celebrated anniversaries ranging from 10 to 65 years – a strong signal for the stability and sustainability of the entire group of companies.
