Kwikset® and DoorBird: Seamless smart security for your home

August 11, 2025

Kwikset, a provider of smart security solutions, and DoorBird, a pioneer in IP video door communication, announce the integration of Kwikset Halo Smartlocks into the DoorBird app. This partnership brings together two industry innovation leaders to offer a more convenient and secure access experience for private households.

With this integration, residents can unlock their Kwikset Halo locks directly from the DoorBird app while communicating live with a visitor via video. A single tap is all it takes to grant access without having to switch apps or interrupt the conversation. The solution works without an additional control panel and uses the existing Wi-Fi network in the home.

‘This is an excellent example of the synergies within the ASSA ABLOY Group,’ explains Jeff Sandoval, Director of Electronics Marketing at Kwikset. ‘By combining our expertise in smart home security with DoorBird’s advanced video systems, we are creating a smarter and safer home.’

The solution offers the highest security standards with encrypted communication and strong authentication, while ensuring a responsive, lag-free user experience. Activation is simple by linking the Kwikset Halo account in the DoorBird app.

‘As part of the ASSA ABLOY Group, we can intensify our collaboration and create integrated solutions that offer real added value,’ adds Sascha Keller, founder and CEO of DoorBird. ‘This partnership fundamentally changes how people interact with their front door.’

The solution will be presented live at CEDIA Expo 2025 at booth 1329. Visitors will get an insight into the integration and can talk directly to product experts.
