Milestone Systems presents Milestone Kite for small and medium-sized enterprises

November 17, 2022

Milestone Systems is expanding its offering of data-driven video technology solutions for hybrid cloud and cloud-native. The new Milestone Kite Video Surveillance as a Service (VSaaS) complements Milestone’s existing XProtect on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Kite is a simple, secure and scalable solution for small to medium businesses, while XProtect on AWS is optimised for large enterprises and corporations. The new solution will be launched in spring 2023.

Milestone Kite is a solution for businesses with one to multiple locations that need a way to centrally manage video across all their locations in one unified system. The new software is designed specifically for high value, low complexity businesses with multiple geographic locations such as banks, retail chains, schools and residential buildings. Built on Arcules’ cloud platform, Milestone Kite is a secure, scalable and cost-effective video management solution with integrated video analytics and access control capabilities. As a VSaaS solution, Milestone Kite provides access to new product updates with no maintenance required.

“Milestone understands the importance of offering a range of hybrid cloud solutions to address the different segments of the security market. That’s why we have been investing in VSaaS offerings for many years to lead the technology shift towards cloud services. As more and more small to medium enterprises are also looking for cloud-based video technology solutions, we decided to develop Milestone Kite. With it, we have created an easy-to-deploy product that has low bandwidth requirements, and is scalable and secure across locations,” comments Thomas Jensen, CEO of Milestone Systems.

“Arcules was built as an innovative cloud video management solution for organisations of any size that have multiple locations. This idea has resulted in a future-proof and, above all, secure software that is still intuitive to use. Milestone customers no longer need to physically visit multiple sites or spend time on maintenance, instead they can simply install our gateway. In addition to viewing camera feeds for immediate situational awareness, with Kite we enable equally automated access control for our customers “, says Andreas Pettersson, CEO of Arcules.

About Milestone Kite

Milestone Kite is a cloud-native video surveillance as a service (VSaaS) designed for small to medium-sized businesses. Milestone Kite is built on Milestone’s open platform and powered by the Arcules cloud platform. Through the solution, more than 6,000 camera models from over 100 manufacturers are supported.

Milestone Kite is quick to install, easy to use and seamlessly scalable, making it equally suitable for single or multi-site surveillance deployments. It also offers flexible, hybrid video storage with low bandwidth requirements, allowing video to be stored in the cloud or at the edge, depending on available bandwidth.

Designed with cyber security in mind, the solution provides continuous security updates and global backup to protect against outages. Integrated person and vehicle detection, heat maps and forensic search transform the video footage into information to improve security and increase operational efficiency.
