Tunnel systems are among the most complex and safety-critical infrastructures. Extreme heat, limited visibility and high traffic frequencies make fires in tunnels particularly dangerous and require seamless interaction between fire alarm systems, alarms and emergency response control. At the same time, operators are confronted with a shortage of skilled workers, increasing regulatory requirements and the need for continuous monitoring.
At STUVA Expo 2025, Securiton Germany, together with re’graph, will present a fully networked tunnel safety solution that addresses precisely these challenges. Under the motto ‘Fire protection squared’, the new solution combines SecuriFire fire alarm systems with re’graph’s digital fire brigade contact points. This creates a comprehensive safety net that detects fires at an early stage, controls traffic flows and immediately informs emergency services.
Core functions of the networked solution
- Early fire detection: SecuriFire and SecuriHeat LIST continuously monitor tunnel sections.
- Automated control: Traffic lights, barriers and voice alarms are controlled centrally.
- Manual incident management: Emergency services can intervene flexibly via re’graph fire brigade contact points.
- Standard-compliant communication: All components exchange information in a standardised and reliable manner.
Digitalisation and remote maintenance
An essential part of the solution is digital remote maintenance. With Config over Line, special fire detectors can be configured and maintained directly via the loop circuit without having to visit each detector on site. Remote access to the fire alarm control panel provides real-time information on alarms and malfunctions and enables rapid remote analysis. This reduces false alarms, shortens closure times and optimises the deployment of skilled personnel.
Highlights at a glance
- Integration of SecuriFire fire alarm systems with re’graph Fire brigade contact points
- SecuriHeat LIST special fire detection technology for demanding tunnel environments
- Voice alarms and traffic control via central control units
- Digital remote maintenance and Config over Line for efficient operation
The solution is robust, modular and future-proof – a new standard for tunnel planning, operation and maintenance.
