New specialist company certification – draft standards published

October 14, 2022

The VDE (Verband der Elektrotechnik Elektronik Informationstechnik e.V.) has informed that the following draft standards have been published with issue date 2022-11:

  • DIN VDE V 0827-41: Emergency and hazard systems – Part 41: Specialist company certification – Requirements for specialist companies for hold-up/intruder alarm systems and hazard warning systems.
  • DIN VDE V 0827-42: Emergency and danger systems – Part 42: Specialist company certification – Certification procedure for specialist companies for hold-up/intruder alarm systems and danger warning systems

Until now, there has been no concrete requirement profile for specialist companies that plan, install and maintain intrusion and hold-up alarm systems or hazard warning systems as well as security technology in smart home applications with intrusion alarm function. This gap is closed with the two new standards.
In accordance with existing national and international standards and other application rules, 0827-41 describes the national minimum requirements for the personnel to be employed.
The corresponding procedure for specialist company certification is described in DIN VDE V 0827-42.
The documents are based on the European umbrella standard DIN EN 16763 for services for fire safety systems and security installations.

The two documents can be viewed and commented on in the DIN VDE draft portal: www.entwuerfe.normenbibliothek.de/ (search term DIN VDE V 0827-41 or -42; deadline for comments 07.02.2023; if not already done, one-time registration is required).
