Retarus, a global provider of messaging, email security and business process solutions, is expanding its enterprise fax services with two significant innovations. A browser-based user interface (UI) for efficient, collaborative work is now available. The portal offers advanced compliance and security features, including multifactor authentication (MFA) and audit trails. This enables companies to easily meet legal requirements and compliance guidelines while reducing their operating costs. In addition, a new Retarus Fax Add-In is now available in Microsoft AppSource, which allows faxes to be conveniently sent and received directly via Outlook.
Retarus Enterprise Fax Portal: Efficient fax sending and receiving directly in the browser
The Enterprise Fax Portal (https://www.retarus.com/de/services/fax/enterprise-fax-portal/) enables the sending, receiving and processing of faxes via a web browser. It works with the concept of fax boxes, to which multiple users and multiple fax numbers can be assigned. This allows companies, for example, to combine fax numbers from several countries for a central support team. Folders can be created within a fax box to sort all received and sent faxes. Faxes can be moved between incoming and outgoing folders, and documents can be uploaded and downloaded.
Users, fax numbers, fax boxes and folders are managed via an intuitive interface that is available in English and German. The portal works independently of email systems or other communication technologies already in use and does not require any special hardware or software installation. The web-based access is particularly suitable for remote work and disaster recovery scenarios because faxes arrive not in individual users‘ or devices’ mailboxes but in shared ones.
Compliance and audit trails for highly regulated industries
User authentication is carried out securely via Retarus’ Identity and Access Management, which also supports multi-factor authentication (MFA). For heavily regulated industries, such as healthcare, a decisive advantage is that the complete audit trail of fax operations is available in one place, thanks to the Enterprise Fax Portal’s own mass storage. Large user companies can also operate multiple instances of the Enterprise Fax Portal if required. The new portal complements the established connections via email (mail-to-fax/fax-to-mail) or APIs and also offers Retarus partners a helpful standalone product that does not require complex integration at the customer site.
‘We are delighted that we can now meet the needs of our customers with a modern browser interface for users,’ comments Jens Koch, Head of Product Management at Retarus. ’The Enterprise Fax Portal enables completely new use cases and also offers advantages in terms of collaboration, cost efficiency and compliance.’
Retarus Fax Add-In for Outlook: Send and receive faxes directly in Microsoft Outlook
The Retarus Fax Add-In for Microsoft Outlook is now available on Microsoft AppSource (https://appsource.microsoft.com/de-de/product/office/WA200007988?tab=Overview). Organisations with many email-to-fax users or users who fax less frequently will particularly benefit from this. The Outlook integration allows users to send faxes directly from Outlook with a single click, using the ‘Send Fax’ button provided by the add-in in the email window. The interface offers a simple way to enter recipients, schedule the transmission time and select file attachments.
