Camero-Tech’s Sense-Through-Wall radar systems provide detection and imaging of living and static objects behind walls and obstacles and will enhance the operational capabilities of USAR (Urban Search and Rescue) teams
Camero-Tech, a member of the SK Group, founded by Samy Katsav, and a pioneer in the development of pulse-controlled UWB micro-energy radar ‘Through-Wall Imaging’, has delivered its advanced search and rescue kits to the Italian Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) teams. The use of Camero-Tech’s Xaver™ systems will significantly improve the ability of first responders to detect and locate survivors in disaster areas.
Recently, a successful training session on Camero-Tech’s Sense-Through-Wall systems was held at the regional fire department headquarters in Rome. During the training, USAR teams from several regions were trained in how to use the technology in real disaster scenarios. The systems effectively detected living persons trapped behind walls and under debris, demonstrating their superior accuracy and reliability in search and rescue operations. The results confirmed that Camero-Tech’s advanced radar technology significantly improves response times and operational efficiency, making it an invaluable tool for first responders.
The Camero-Tech search and rescue kit includes:
- Xaver™ 100 – An ultra-portable hand-held device that provides primary and reliable information about the presence of living persons.
- Xaver™ 400 – A compact radar-based system that provides real-time images of living and static objects and their locations.
- Xavernet™ – A remote-controlled ToughPad that allows simultaneous monitoring and operation of multiple Xaver™ systems, enabling better coordination of rescue operations.
Camero-Tech’s Search & Rescue Kit is lightweight, quick to deploy and packed in a specialised backpack so that it can be used quickly and efficiently when it arrives at the scene of the disaster. The equipment enables first responders to work in dangerous environments, locate survivors in deep cavities and perform life-saving procedures with greater precision and safety.
‘We are proud to support the Italian Urban Search and Rescue teams with our cutting-edge radar technology,’ said Amir Beeri, CEO of Camero-Tech. ’The ability to locate survivors in collapsed buildings is critical to rescue operations, and our Xaver™ radar systems have already proven their life-saving capabilities in disaster areas worldwide. This deployment in Italy is a further step in our commitment to improving the effectiveness of first responders in search and rescue operations.’
The XAVER™ radar systems are completely radiation-safe and comply with international standards for human radiation exposure.
