The ASSA ABLOY Group presented modern solutions and product innovations for functional doors in a wide range of applications. Highlights included the new generation of locks with innovative tilt latch technology, the Safety Door Closer® now also available for double-leaf doors with integrated escape door locking and the presentation of a new convenient Planet cover profile in the manufacturer’s well-known finger protection range.
Secure and barrier-free: locks with innovative tilt latch technology
In the past, the demand for tightness, sound insulation and burglar resistance often came at the expense of the ease of movement and accessibility of doors. With the market launch of the new lock generation (initially as a full leaf version in summer 2023), the combination of high concealed or imperceptible security and maximum ease of use has now been achieved. Despite many locking points, compliance with the maximum operating forces according to EN179/EN1125 is ensured thanks to the applied tilt latch technology. The number of burglar-resistant locking points could even be increased further without negatively affecting the ease of use. Even with tight doors, the new locks maintain the operating forces according to EN1125/EN179. Even large pressure differences, for example in lock areas, no longer have any effect on the barrier-free use of the respective door.
Escape route technology: 925 control panel with touch display
The new 925 control panel with touch display allows intuitive display and operation of up to 24 escape doors or group functions. A total of three displays with 8, 15 or 24 buttons can be configured easily and flexibly. In addition to the compact and clear display of the respective door situation, the password-secured control of the doors also offers a high level of user comfort.
How escape doors open silently
The patented escape door locking device 352M is tested according to EltVTR and EN 13637. This locking solution can be used to equip single-action and swing doors along escape routes. A special advantage of the escape door locking device is the drive concept: The door leaf is detected by a non-contact sensor. This prevents wear on the door and minimises operating noise – the 352M locks and unlocks particularly quietly.
EXITalarm with louder signal
This innovative alarm device is an easy-to-retrofit security solution that provides two barriers against misuse of the door. The visually clear mounting with a signal red monitoring lever increases the inhibition threshold of unauthorised use. In addition, every movement of the monitoring lever is signalled acoustically. Even with light pressure, the pre-alarm sounds – now also with a significantly louder signal.
Safety door closer® as a double-leaf variant.
It is particularly suitable for retrofitting existing functional doors that are subsequently equipped with an escape route lock without having to make structural changes to the door. Now the world’s first safety door closer® with integrated escape door locking is also available for use on double-leaf doors on the hinge side.
Door closer with radio smoke detector
Tiresome wiring was yesterday. With the new radio system for hold-open systems, planning, projecting and installing new or retrofitted hold-open systems is quick and time-saving. The FM155 radio module can be installed wirelessly in minutes and commissioned intuitively and user-friendly. The automatic range measurement indicates the maximum distance between the individual components.
Spark: electronic key novelty of the IKON brand
The Spark will also be presented at the trade fair as the first electronic eCLIQ key from the IKON brand that operates completely without a battery. The Spark opens doors with self-generated energy. It is therefore self-sufficient, independent and has many electronic functions. Together with the improved updates of the eCLIQ keys “Professional” and “Connect”, it is part of the new ASSA ABLOY system key concept, which scores with great flexibility and compatible application possibilities in the most diverse areas of use.
SCALA-CLIQ integration: access control and electronic locking system in one application interface
With the combination of the card-based access control SCALA and the key-based electronic locking system eCLIQ, ASSA ABLOY has developed a security solution that allows both locking systems to be managed via a single user interface. All management functions such as granting and revoking access authorisations and media can be carried out via the SCALA net software. It is also possible to establish security levels for different user groups on one user interface.
Extremely secure in any weather: Electric deadbolt 843G for gates and doors
The new 843G electric deadbolt from effeff is suitable for use wherever a very high level of security and at the same time an extremely weather-resistant solution is required. Typical areas of application are gates, roller shutters or heavy-duty doors. The motor-operated and industrially suitable deadbolt impresses with its IP67 protection class and holding forces of up to 50,000 Newtons. In addition, the 843G electric deadbolt offers versatile installation and usage options as well as monitoring of the locking status at all times.
SK6 radius profiles with improved mechanical burglary protection
The technically sophisticated radius profiles of the special SK6 class provide the basis for extremely secure and flexible access systems. With the new SK6 radius profiles, stable blanks made of nickel silver with six spring-loaded pin tumblers as a basis in combination with additional coding make it difficult to read and copy keys. The new basic version of the SK6 system as well as the radius profile Plus, Extra or locking shaft with the highest security level will replace all previously available new system profiles in the future.
Planet finger protection cover profile with great user comfort
ASSA ABLOY (Schweiz) AG, with its Planet brand, is expanding its well-known finger protection range this year with a new hinge-side cover profile that impresses with few components and extremely simple installation. Without having to damage the door element, for example by screwing, the new system can be installed in a minimum of time of about 10 minutes and without special expertise. Dismantling, for example when maintenance is required on the door element, is also possible without tools. The cover profile is suitable for almost any application situation. Planning is also extremely convenient, as only a few data are required to find the right model.
