Rosenbauer International AG: Rosenbauer Group back in regular operation after cyber attack

March 24, 2023

The Rosenbauer Group, which became the target of a cyber attack at the end of February, has successfully overcome the attack and resumed regular operations as planned. The cyber attack and the subsequent shutdown of the IT infrastructure affected the individual divisions to varying degrees and led to downtimes of up to two weeks in production. In particular, the organisation of internal material flows was impaired. Some branches, such as the locations in the USA, in Linares, Spain, or in Radgona, Slovenia, were able to maintain production without interruption. As a precautionary measure, all servers and end devices were restarted under close supervision and security standards were raised throughout the Group. As a result, the IT infrastructure of the group of companies is available again.

“The early discovery of this attack and the rapid response by our group IT helped us limit the impact. Although we are clearly out of the woods, there may still be delays to individual business processes here and there in the coming weeks. We will solve these problems individually. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our customers and suppliers for their understanding in this difficult situation and our employees for their commitment and patience,” says Sebastian Wolf, CEO of Rosenbauer International AG.
