SALTO FOUNDATION promotes social change through sport

August 4, 2025

The SALTO FOUNDATION began operations in summer 2025, marking a new phase in SALTO WECOSYSTEM’s long-standing commitment to social responsibility. The aim is to harness the transformative power of sport to promote positive change worldwide, particularly by supporting disadvantaged groups and people with disabilities.

With the start of the foundation’s work, the new SALTO FOUNDATION website has also officially gone live. It serves as a central platform for information about the foundation’s projects, activities and goals. The focus is on promoting social inclusion and sustainable, positive change through targeted programmes and partnerships.

The SALTO FOUNDATION builds on over 25 years of philanthropic activities within SALTO WECOSYSTEM, in particular on its previous commitment to the Free2Move initiative. This initiative has involved the company’s employees and shareholders in projects promoting equal opportunities, participation and social justice for many years. The new foundation continues this tradition and represents a strategic development of previous projects.

At its core, the SALTO FOUNDATION focuses on two areas of action: access to sport and sport as a driver of change. Within this framework, it provides targeted support for inclusive sports projects and promotes para-athletes worldwide with the aim of improving visibility, participation and inclusion. In addition, the commitment aims to develop long-term, impact-oriented initiatives that use sport as a tool for social integration, empowerment and sustainable positive change in disadvantaged communities.

The SALTO FOUNDATION sees itself as a catalyst. Its main focus is on sustainable financing concepts, strategic partnerships and concrete, measurable results in the projects it supports – far beyond traditional donation models.

“I am thrilled to be involved in building the SALTO FOUNDATION, which is both a long-held dream and a new adventure. We firmly believe in bringing about positive change and empowering people who are committed to a better society,” says Javier Roquero, co-founder and long-standing CEO of Salto and chairman of the SALTO FOUNDATION.

Marc Gomez, CEO of SALTO WECOSYSTEM and member of the foundation’s board of trustees, adds: ‘I am delighted to have the opportunity to work even more closely with our foundation, which plays an important role for the companies of SALTO WECOSYSTEM. The foundation is the latest milestone on the ambitious journey that Salto, Gantner and Vintia have been on since their inception to create a more inclusive society and a sustainable future.’
