Salto XS4 Face wins the German Innovation Award 2026

June 15, 2026

Salto has been awarded the German Innovation Award 2026 for its XS4 Face facial recognition solution. This prestigious award recognises products, technologies and services across all sectors that stand out for their forward-thinking ideas and the exceptional value they offer users.

With XS4 Face, Salto is setting new standards in access control: the solution enables secure, contactless access exclusively via biometric facial recognition. Mechanical keys, cards or mobile devices become redundant, significantly simplifying access processes whilst making them more secure. The risk of lost or stolen access media is completely eliminated. XS4 Face is designed as a scalable solution and is suitable for a wide range of applications – from office buildings to complex, networked infrastructures.

The German Innovation Award is presented by the German Design Council and is one of the most prestigious awards for innovation in Germany. Projects are either nominated by expert panels or submitted by companies themselves, and subsequently undergo a standardised, multi-stage assessment process. An independent, interdisciplinary jury evaluates the submissions according to criteria such as degree of innovation, user benefit, cost-effectiveness, sustainability and technical quality. In 2026, a total of 462 entries from 23 countries were assessed.

The award for XS4 Face underscores Salto’s role as a driver of innovation in the field of intelligent access solutions and confirms the company’s consistent focus on secure, efficient and future-proof technologies.
