In today’s society, facial recognition is an important method for identifying, confirming and analyzing identity and is now a primary category within biometric security.
C-WERK®’s facial recognition feature can be used, for example, to search for people in video recordings. The feature can also be used to provide real-time awareness of specific individuals. Examples here are for registered hooligans before entering the stadium or known gambling addicts at the entrance of a casino.

The face recognition function enables the recognition and identification of faces. In addition, it is possible to match recognized faces with an existing photo in order to carry out further automated actions.

With C-WERK®, GRUNDIG Security provides comprehensive solutions for facial recognition:

a) Analysis in the camera (Edge Analytics). In this variant, face recognition takes place in the camera. The recognized face is compared with a blacklist or a whitelist.
Actions, such as sending an e-mail, alerting via a mobile app, etc., are performed directly from the camera. The advantage is that no additional servers are required.
However, in this analysis, the summary can be solved less elegantly in a system with many cameras for face recognition. In addition, renewing the face lists cannot be done centrally either. These disadvantages can be solved by using server-based analysis.

b) Server based analysis. Here, face recognition from many image sources is performed simultaneously on a single server. The faces are analyzed in real time and compared with the entries in a database. Maintenance of this database is done centrally. Other advantages: Multiple inputs and outputs can be monitored simultaneously. This C-WERK® solution also offers a counting function, display on a “dashboard” and extensive reporting. In addition, the location of the recognized face can also be displayed on a site map. BU: Identified faces are visualized in the site plan.
