Security Essen – Booth 6B25: New at Security Essen: Bluetooth® for access control.

September 18, 2022

PCS will be exhibiting innovative ID technology for access control in Hall 6, 6B25. New at PCS is the use of Bluetooth® for communication in access control, both in radio networking for mechanical locking systems and in the use of the ID.mobile app, which uses the smartphone as a virtual ID card.

PCS Managing Director Matthias Kleemeier is looking forward to the trade fair: “For us, Security is the networking event of the industry. The quality of our INTUS terminals and readers can be experienced and felt live at a trade fair. Visitors will also be able to experience the full diversity of our PCS solution portfolio at our booth. In line with our company motto “Time for Security”, we take time for our customers and interested parties.”

App ID.mobile for access control via smartphone.
PCS is presenting the ID.mobile app for access control via smartphone at Security. For this, the authorizations are loaded onto the smartphone as an encrypted “neon file” – thus turning the smartphone into a virtual ID card. This file can only be decrypted by the appropriate reader, so that the contents cannot be read even if the smartphone is lost or stolen. The smartphone and reader communicate via Bluetooth technology. In addition, data transmission is encrypted using AES. The security level is thus comparable with current RFID technologies. All current iOS and Android smartphones are supported.

Bluetooth for wireless networking of INTUS Flex locking systems.
PCS is showcasing the flexible INTUS Flex mechatronic locking systems for the first time at the trade fair. This gives customers maximum freedom in designing their corporate security. Doors can be secured with digital locking cylinders or lever handles. In wireless online operating mode, the components are networked via Bluetooth to check authorization changes in real time and make bookings available in the access management system. INTUS Flex is also suitable for fire doors or doors that require special protection against burglary. With this new product line, PCS presents an attractive addition to its standard access control system.
