Euralarm starts new Task Force Video Fire Detection The Euralarm Fire Section has started a new Task Force that will focus on video fire detection. The start of the new task force follows after identifying video as an expanding technology for the fire business. The scope is to investigate mainly both products / systems and installations of video fire detection in general including thermal video fire detection.

The new Task Force Video Fire Detection (TF VFD) will work on identifying and mapping the current standardisation situation on international, European and national level, including other standardisation and guidance that is worked on by or via test houses, etc.
Parallel to this, the Task Force will identify the activities that are carried out in Europe towards the development of standard and determine if existing standards need improvement and/or additional standards need to be developed for European uses. This will eventually lead to an Euralarm action plan with suggestions as to whether or not the technology should be brought into European standards.
The Task Force is currently calling for a chair who will be supported by the Technical Manager of the Fire Section.
