Allegion acquires British security provider UAP Group

August 7, 2025

The Irish-American security group Allegion plc has acquired the British manufacturer UAP Group Limited, based in Bury, Lancashire, through a subsidiary. UAP specialises in door fittings for residential applications and has a portfolio of around 200 patents, trademarks and design rights.

The acquisition strengthens Allegion’s market position in the United Kingdom. UAP will be part of Allegion International and will complement Allegion UK’s existing non-commercial offering. The aim is to further expand the joint portfolio of solutions for specialist retailers and end customers.

According to Tim Eckersley, President of Allegion International, this is a strategic expansion of the mechanical product portfolio. The integration is expected to drive further growth through close coordination in sales, product development and market approach.

UAP CEO David Jennings will join Allegion and will oversee the transition phase and provide operational support for the integration.
