Anton Kathrein will assume entrepreneurial responsibility at KATHREIN SE. This marks the beginning of a new chapter in the over 100-year history of the family-owned company. In the course of replacing all commitments, Anton Kathrein will initially take over as chairman of the supervisory board before succeeding Harald Johanning-Meiners in the role of CEO in 2024. This will successfully complete the transformation process of KATHREIN SE co-initiated by him and board member Harald Johanning-Meiners.
Anton Kathrein: “Our company is more than a matter of the heart for me. KATHREIN has huge potential, and we will work together in the coming months to further realize this potential. I am extremely pleased to be shaping the future of KATHREIN with our employees by further strengthening the existing business areas and also opening up new markets in the areas of IoT and electromobility. Together, we now have the great opportunity to open a new chapter in the history of our company. I am very much looking forward to this task. I would like to express my deep gratitude to the executive board and the supervisory board, who have set the necessary course for a successful future of KATHREIN in the past months. I would also like to express my special thanks to all employees, whose loyalty and commitment have laid the foundation for our new start together.”
Harald Johanning-Meiners, CEO of KATHREIN SE: “Today is a good day for KATHREIN. On behalf of all employees, I would like to thank Anton Kathrein for his commitment to the company and for the strong signal of new beginnings. With his return to entrepreneurial responsibility, we have successfully completed the jointly initiated transformation process. Anton Kathrein is an excellent expert in our industry and will continue to expand KATHREIN’s leading market position as we move forward.”
Andreas Köglmeier, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of KATHREIN SE: “The Kathrein family’s return to entrepreneurial responsibility is a great sign of Anton Kathrein’s commitment to the company and good news for the employees, our suppliers, partners and customers and, of course, the Rosenheim region. The supervisory board expressly welcomes this step.”
In the course of the transaction, all obligations to the bank consortium under the reorganization agreement concluded in 2019 will be discharged. This is made possible by a contribution of the Kathrein family to the company as well as financing by Sparkasse Rosenheim-Bad Aibling. The transaction is the result of a carefully conducted process under the leadership of CEO Harald Johanning-Meiners as well as a constructive cooperation with the bank consortium, which contributed significantly to the success of the transaction. The ownership structure of KATHREIN SE remains unaffected by this step.
