The strategic guidelines were brought to life in Montreal. In February 2026, Genetec invited international trade journalists to the Press Summit’26 in Montreal, Canada – including Euro Security, the specialist media outlet for security and technology topics in the EMEA region.
The event focused not only on the product perspective, but also on the overall strategic picture: How is the global market for physical security developing? What forecasts will shape 2026? And what role do AI, hybrid architectures and cybersecurity play in the technological roadmap? This gave the trade journalists first-hand insights into market analyses, innovation strategies and concrete solutions. The summit made it clear that the industry is at a structural turning point – away from isolated individual technologies and towards integrated, open and responsibly developed platform models. The practical relevance was particularly relevant. During visits to the Royalmount luxury shopping centre in Montreal and ABB, the editorial team was able to see how the technologies are implemented in real operating environments. This revealed how strategic concepts are translated into operational security architecture – from intelligent search to space-oriented system logic. The Press Summit’26 was therefore not only an industry event, but also an editorial assessment of the current situation: Montreal became the showcase for a security industry that combines technological innovation with long-term partnership, openness and responsibility.
