Paris Air Show 2023: Rohde & Schwarz presents its cutting-edge air communications portfolio

June 12, 2023

Rohde & Schwarz, the specialist in secure airborne communications, showcases its current air communications solutions in Le Bourget. Highlights include the latest developments in real-time and networked solutions for FCAS, software defined airborne radios from the SOVERON radio family, and the new R&S M4ACS multidomain quad-redundant advanced communications solution.

At Paris Air Show 2023, where the international aviation and aerospace world converges, Rohde & Schwarz is showcasing its air communications portfolio. The full range features fully integrated, high performance and scalable trusted solutions for air-air, air-ground, and ground-ground communications.

The independent company is creating the next generation of solutions with unrivalled technology, reliability and interoperability, while offering high data bandwidth connections and the lowest observability. This is part of the latest developments in network centric communications for the future combat air system (FCAS).

More than 9000 software defined airborne radios from the SOVERON radio family have so far been delivered. The SOVERON family consists ofVHF/UHF airborne transceivers that meet both military and civil airborne communications standards. These radios feature highly secure embedded encryption algorithms for protected military communications. Reference platforms include the Eurofighter Typhoon, the A400M transport aircraft along with rotary-wing aircraft such as the H145M light utility helicopter.

Military customers can now benefit from technological advancements in voice over IP (VoIP) -based ATC, as R&S M4ACS is a field-proven and operational solution for fixed and deployable military command centers or air bases. It provides clear separation between the red/secure and black/non-secure domains and enables the air operations controller to connect to any radio anywhere at any time.

Rohde & Schwarz showcases its portfolio at Paris Air Show in Le Bourget from June 19 to 25, 2023, in Hall 2C, German Pavilion, booth C318.
