- Magenta Security Sign is a sovereign eSignature platform
- All signature procedures for German administrations included
- Operations entirely in Germany, data confidential at all times
The market has been waiting for this: Magenta Security Sign already had customers before the product was officially launched. Telekom’s new e-signature platform is now available to all public authorities and companies. Many of the systems currently available on the market do not meet the high requirements of the Federal Republic of Germany. Public administrations must ensure legal procedural security. This is only possible if every electronic signature is traceable and admissible in court. For this reason, only solutions that are explicitly certified for the public sector may be used. The data protection requirements (GDPR) also stipulate that personal data must not be outsourced to third countries.
All data remains in Germany
Magenta Security Sign takes all of this into account. The new eSignature platform enables companies and public institutions to use legally secure, eIDAS-compliant electronic signatures with all the necessary procedures for German administrations. This includes simple, advanced, and qualified electronic signatures, so-called DOI certificates, and signature cards. All data is processed exclusively in Germany and operated in the Open Telekom Cloud. Magenta Security Sign thus offers a secure, flexible, and sovereign alternative to international providers.
“With our new offering, we are responding to the demand for alternative solutions made in Germany. What’s more, thanks to zero document knowledge, only the sender and recipient know the content. All processes remain confidential at all times and the data stays in the country,” says Telekom Security CEO Thomas Tschersich. Telekom developed its data-sovereign flagship product together with young companies from its TechBoost startup program. These are Certifaction, Sign8, and Fidentity. The developers have optimally fulfilled the task of taking data security, compliance, and user-friendliness into account in equal measure.
Secure and scalable
Magenta Security Sign has been fully integrated into the Telekom infrastructure. This means that the eSignature platform offers the same level of security as the hierarchical system used by the German government to issue, distribute, and verify digital certificates. This is known as the administrative PKI (public key infrastructure). It can be used immediately via an app or integrated via a programming interface (API). No complex installation is necessary. This saves time and maintenance effort right from the start without compromising on security and data protection.
The sovereign eSignature platform is ideally tailored to administrations, local authorities, and state agencies. At the same time, regulated industries – such as banks, insurance companies, and healthcare – as well as companies that value maximum security and sovereignty benefit from Magenta Security Sign. Deutsche Telekom will present its new product for the first time from October 7-9 at the it-sa trade fair in Nuremberg. In Hall 7A at Booth 230.
