Wavestore v6.44: Faster responses and more efficient security processes

October 22, 2025

In today’s security environment, every second counts. Whether in an airport control centre, in video surveillance of public facilities or in retail, the ability to detect and assess incidents in real time and respond quickly determines the effectiveness of a security system. With the new version WaveView v6.44, video management specialist Wavestore is addressing precisely this issue: the update aims to shorten response times and simplify operational processes in security operations.

Optimised for practical use

In developing version 6.44, Wavestore listened primarily to feedback from security professionals. As CEO Sam Shalaby emphasises, minutes lost during an incident can mean the difference between ‘containment or escalation’. That’s why user-friendliness was a priority in this release: operators should be able to find cameras faster, investigators should be able to evaluate video footage without disrupting ongoing operations, and integrators should be able to configure systems more efficiently.

New features for greater clarity and speed

A key highlight is the new interactive maps, which allow cameras to be placed and controlled directly on building or site plans. This significantly improves the overview of the situation and makes it easier to find your way around complex installations.

The ‘Expand All’ function in the device menu also saves time: with a single click, entire device structures can be opened – particularly useful for large systems with many cameras or sensors.

An offline review station is now available for investigations and post-processing. This allows exported video data to be analysed independently of the live system without affecting ongoing operations. This is complemented by bulk list management, which allows licence plates, object IDs or other identifiers to be imported via CSV file – making system setup much easier.

Last but not least, smarter search and filter functions ensure faster navigation through complex system hierarchies – a particular advantage for control centres with high event densities.

Stable foundation for future developments

With v6.44, Wavestore is pursuing a so-called ‘foundation-first’ approach: first, core functions, user interface and workflow management are optimised so that future enhancements – for example in the areas of video analysis, AI-based event detection or process automation – can be seamlessly integrated.

According to Mark Claxton, Managing Director at Wavestore, the improvements reflect the challenges that security and integrator teams face on a daily basis. ‘We have deliberately refined the platform so that users – from operators to forensic experts – can work more effectively with less training and distraction,’ says Claxton.

Global presence with growing significance

Wavestore is one of the established international providers of video management systems and focuses on open, scalable platforms that can be flexibly integrated into existing security infrastructures. Recent projects include collaboration with the Public Prosecution Service Canada (PPSC) and ongoing implementation at a major European fashion retailer.

With installation numbers continuing to rise worldwide, Wavestore is also strengthening its presence in German-speaking countries and offering integrators and specialist installers new opportunities for partnership-based collaboration.
