iOS 25.34.10.72 tackles use of two accounts outside of the business version

According to the beta info page WABetaInfo (https://wabetainfo.com/whatsapp-beta-for-ios-25-34-10-72-whats-new/), Meta’s messenger WhatsApp (https://www.whatsapp.com) is testing dual account usage, which many users have been requesting for a long time. According to the report, the company is testing the approval of additional accounts on the iPhone in its TestFlight beta. The parallel use of multiple user accounts outside of the business version would be advantageous for employees.

For two SIM cards

The feature can be tried out in WhatsApp for iOS 25.34.10.72 – but only by a select group of users. This allows the use of two accounts. You can use existing accounts, i.e. for WhatsApp Business, and newly created numbers. This means that the number of a second SIM card or eSIM can be included for the first time.

The accounts are stored via QR codes, with each one having its own individual chat history, notification options and privacy settings. Users should be able to switch between accounts quickly and always have control over which number is being used to send messages thanks to the display of the sender’s name.

Time-consuming tests

WhatsApp has not yet provided any details on the general rollout of this practical feature for all users. Experience has shown that companies take their time with beta tests, which could delay the release by months. WhatsApp recently released an automatic text message translation feature.
