With the XS4 Heavy Duty fittings, Salto now offers particularly robust versions of the XS4 One S and XS4 Original+ ranges.

Thanks to additional security features, they meet the certification standards for security fittings in accordance with EN 16867 and are suitable for security doors (up to RC3 in accordance with EN 1627) as well as external doors with increased requirements for weather protection.

Salto has launched the Heavy-Duty models of its XS4 One S and XS4 Original+ smart fittings. They have been specially developed for security and entrance doors, as well as for use in demanding outdoor environments. The new models combine a particularly robust mechanical design with modern electronics and smart access functions, thereby creating a seamless, highly secure and, at the same time, keyless access solution.

The XS4 Heavy Duty fittings are designed for maximum durability and can withstand even harsh environmental conditions and high mechanical stress. Their high level of security is certified; in extensive testing procedures, the models achieved EN 16867 certification with a high classification for resistance to tampering (47-B24D23).

This makes them suitable for use on burglar-resistant security doors up to Class RC3 in accordance with EN 1627, and for premises requiring a higher level of protection, such as residential properties, server and technical rooms, KRITIS environments, public institutions or financial institutions.

To ensure this level of resistance, the heavy-duty versions feature numerous structural reinforcements. These include, amongst other things, a 4 mm-thick security plate beneath the outer escutcheon, protective sleeves for fixing screws, the nut and the square spindle, as well as durable bearing components.

At the same time, the fittings are designed to be particularly weather-resistant: sealed and corrosion-protected components, as well as specially developed seals, provide reliable protection against moisture and ensure long-term, secure operation – even outdoors and under challenging environmental conditions.

Despite their robust construction, the XS4 Heavy-Duty models offer a modern and intuitive user experience.

The electronic fittings can be installed quickly and easily. They are fully wireless, battery-powered and enable energy-efficient operation with simple battery replacement. In conjunction with the tried-and-tested Salto technologies SVN for virtual networking and BLUEnet for wireless networking, they support highly flexible access management as well as the documentation of access events. In doing so, they simultaneously enhance transparency and security for users.

The XS4 One S and XS4 Original+ heavy-duty models are compatible with the Salto Space access control platforms for on-premises system layouts, as well as the Salto KS and Salto Homelok cloud solutions. They are operated keylessly using RFID media and digital keys for mobile access. Users benefit from versatile door-opening options tailored to their specific project requirements, ensuring smooth processes.

In terms of design, the heavy-duty fittings also blend seamlessly into a variety of architectural concepts. A range of finishes and door handles allows for customisation to suit existing infrastructure and aesthetic requirements.
