20 years of cooperation between Hamburg police and private security companies of the BDSW

November 11, 2022

On 11 November 2002, the Hamburg police and the Hamburg regional group of the Federal Association of the Security Industry signed a cooperation agreement with the aim of jointly intensifying public security and order as well as the protection of Hamburg citizens even further. “I am pleased that 20 years later we can look back on a long-term and successful cooperation and continue the concept,” says BDSW regional group chairman Jens Müller.

For the 10th anniversary of the security partnership in 2012, the then Senator of the Interior Michael Neumann welcomed representatives of the partners involved in the Kaisersaal of the City Hall and presented the then new “Hamburg Network for Site Security”. On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the cooperation agreement, the police and the association have once again updated and continued the cooperation under the motto “Observe, Detect, Report”, which above all contributes to increasing the risk of detection for criminals.

Police Commissioner Ralf Martin Meyer: “The cooperation between the BDSW and the police has proven itself and developed further over the past two decades. I am pleased that together we will continue to make this important contribution to improving public safety and order in the future.”

The security companies involved in the cooperation between Hamburg’s police and the BDSW are recognisable by vehicle stickers indicating their support and partnership with Hamburg Police.

“A large number of employees from our member companies are out and about in Hamburg around the clock. Through their presence at the properties to be protected, they make a fundamental prevention contribution to supporting the police,” says Müller.
