Authentic.network from Chemnitz showed at this year’s hardware fair in Cologne how companies can protect themselves.
The Chemnitz-based start-up has already secured millions of medical products and medicines in Africa against counterfeiting and thus saved many lives. Now authentic.network is expanding its sphere of activity and, together with its partner Ralph Martindale, showed at the Cologne Hardware Fair how high-quality industrial goods can also be protected worldwide.

Ralph Martindale has been one of the leading international tool manufacturers for over 100 years. Increasing counterfeiting from the Far East does not stop at Ralph Martindale. Growth and thus jobs in various parts of the world are endangered as a result. With the technology of authentic.network, Ralph Martindale now gives its products a more genuine authenticity, which can be checked by anyone in the world. Visitors were able to experience how this works live at the trade fair.

All it takes is the specially developed app from authentic.network. A special sticker, which is secured via blockchain technology and thus forgery-proof, is attached to the product. The customer scans this sticker and in a second a green tick appears on the mobile phone display as a symbol of everything being in order and verified authenticity.

The app provides the producer and customer with a variety of other options, such as warranty processing, exclusive information and much more. In addition, authentic.network enables the producer to identify where counterfeits are appearing. In a dashboard, red crosses are placed on a world map wherever counterfeits have been scanned by the customer. In this way, the manufacturer can see where counterfeits are a problem and can take targeted action against them. A technology that gives products a globally verified authenticity inspires customers and producers alike at the hardware fair.
